FAQ
Which engines do you query?
ChatGPT via the OpenAI Responses API with web search, Claude via Anthropic's web search tool, Gemini via Google Search grounding, Grok via xAI's web search tool, and Perplexity Sonar. Each is the official API with search enabled, which is a proxy for the consumer app.
How are the buyer questions chosen?
From your site we identify your category and competitors, then write questions in five shapes: best X for Y, A vs B, alternatives to C, is D worth it / how much does X cost, and how do I do the job. None of them name your product, because a buyer who doesn't know you yet wouldn't.
What counts as being cited?
Linked means the engine's answer included a citation to your domain or a subdomain. Named means your brand appeared in the answer text without a link. Both are reported as the share of runs in which they happened.
Why are the numbers not exact?
Answers vary between runs and the APIs are not identical to the consumer apps. We repeat each question and report frequencies, and we show how stable the winner was across runs.
What is in the fixes pack?
A generated llms.txt, a JSON-LD block for Organization and Product/SoftwareApplication, a robots.txt diff if you block AI crawlers, and answer-first FAQ entries written for the questions you're losing or that nobody wins. Files you paste, not advice.
How much does it cost?
The snapshot is free, one per domain per 30 days. The full audit is $9, paid once via Stripe — 20 questions across five engines; ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity run three times, Gemini and Grok once. There is no subscription yet.
Do you store my data?
We store the URL, the email you give us, the crawled facts about your public site, the questions, and the engine answers, so the report page keeps working. The report link is unlisted; anyone with the link can view it. To have an audit deleted, email hello@citeshare.ai.
